MTU Fuel Pumps

An MTU fuel pump must be matched by more than the engine series. High-pressure pumps, low-pressure feed pumps, hand-priming pumps, and delivery pumps differ by pressure range, drive arrangement, port orientation, engine rating, and production revision. Ordering from a shortened engine description can result in a pump that mounts correctly but does not meet the required pressure or control specification.

Common pump-related service symptoms include difficult priming, low rail or supply pressure, power loss under load, abnormal pump noise, external leakage, and pressure faults that remain after filters and control valves have been checked. These symptoms do not prove that the pump itself has failed, so a diagnostic code, measured pressure, and existing pump label are useful before ordering.

For an RFQ, send the complete pump number, engine model and serial number, pump nameplate photo, inlet and outlet orientation, quantity, destination, and required delivery date. For a remanufactured route, also confirm whether a serviceable core is available.
