Oil consumption only becomes actionable once it has been measured against something. The commonest reason a consumption complaint escalates is that the figure being chased was never recorded consistently: a top-up added on a different day, under a different load, at a different ambient temperature, compared against an estimate from months earlier. • Oil present in the charge-air ducting or intercooler — this points at the turbocharger route
• Exhaust colour alongside any coolant loss — oil and coolant together change the scope
• Crankcase pressure evidence, which separates internal blow-by from a restricted breather path
• Engine hours and overhaul history, including any liner, ring, or valve work already done

A restricted breather path and an external leak both present as "high oil consumption" and both are cheaper than anything inside the engine. Clear those two before the internal investigation starts — it is the difference between a hose and a head.
